February 13 - 14, 2016 - Valentine's Day - Nyashi 2nd Ward

Saturday, February 13 - Today Sister Draper, Sister Vance, and I sewed in the office today. I finished my African doll as much as I am going to. I will wait to buy yarn at home for the hair and also the beads. I know the granddaughters will be excited to choose the fabric they want and make their own.

I also sewed an apron. It still needs the ties at the neck and sides.

The Jubbers and Mikesells arrived back from Kolwezi. Dr. Jubber was a bit amazed at what we have to work with here as far as hospitals. The Drapers and Elder Peterson and I joined them at the Latte 'Licious restaurant for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We had a great visit with delicious food.

Sunday, February 14, We all attended the Nyashi 2 Ward - The Tent Chapel

The Young Men of the Ward and one young woman and one boy

On the way out of the Nyashi neighborhood, we took these pictures. Washing hung over the bushes to dry.

The Mikesells and Jubbers left after Sunday School so they could get home and have some lunch before taking the Jubbers to the airport. Elder Mikesell took a wrong turn and started down a neighborhood dirt road.  Sometimes the residents fill holes in the road with garbage so it appears that there really isn't a hole. Well, Elder Mikesell's truck tire went down into such a hole and they were stuck. Neighbors started pouring out of their yards to help. The men worked and worked to lift the truck out, then followed along with them  helping the truck along, until they finally got to the end of the road and were able to get on to a paved road. It took about 45 minutes. Sister Mikesell paid the main man who helped some money and hoped that he would share with the others. A little too much excitement for a Sabbath Day. The Jubbers made it to the airport on time and arrived safely in Johannesburg.
