April 9 - 10, 2016 - Conference Weekend in the Congo

April 9 and 10, 2016

We are busy around here all the time. Without Elder and Sister Draper there is not empty days with nothing to do. That is good, though. The time passes very quickly. It is amazing to us how fast Fridays come around.  We really don't take a "p" day. There is usually something that must be done on Saturday. But this Saturday, I needed a break. So I didn't come to the office at all.  I stayed at home and used the mission sewing machine to mend a few things. I baked chocolate chip cookies, made jello with whipped cream beat into it, made that light jello cheesecake. I was watching/listening to Conference all day.  We had downloaded all the sessions to watch.

Sunday, April 10 - All the wards are watching Conference on Saturday and Sunday so there was no Sacrament Meeting.  Sunday I made rolls for lunch and Ron made a chicken soup. Sister Peterson came for morning conference, lunch and then afternoon conference. Elder Peterson (the doctor) flew home last Tuesday. His father passed away. He will return next Wednesday. So Sister Peterson has had to be the doctor and nurse this week.

We just picked the times to watch the conference sessions. Each one of us had the conference sessions on our laptops so all of us didn't get together. The two sisters have a cough/cold so they stayed at their house.

We are doing well and are happy here. Next week we have 9 missionaries leaving and 13 new ones arriving.

Dinner at La Boucher with President and Sister Thomas, Sister Vance, and Sister Cook. Sister Peterson, was too busy with missionary sick calls to come. La Boucher is a restaurant near the small hyper pisaro that we walk by on some of our morning walk/runs.

Great atmosphere - can have a lake view, but it was raining

Fancy restaurant, good food, a little pricey
